Thursday 1st July - walks **** - Felixstowe Prom and Waldringfield circuit – sunny periods.

Walk 1.

After a few dull drizzly days, it was nice to wake to a blue sky with bright sunshine with light airs so headed out with my camera at 9.10 to take a few pics down the seafront to see if I could get one on the local weather. Walked onto the prom by the pier for the nice row of brightly coloured beach huts, then got several nice pics walking back. A couple of ferries headed out but I missed the replica Ark being towed back to the Netherlands after being stuck at Ipswich for months! I was then lucky to have a pic chosen by Aisling on ITV’s About Anglia weather and also was Editors Choice on the BBC’s weather watchers, so a good day with Mags back nowhere to be seen!

Walk 2.

After exercises in the garden, I pack lunch, Mag and I then drive over to Hemley Church to have it. A nice relaxing time we drive the short distance to Waldringfield Church high above the River Deben. We then walk through fields of potatoes in full bloom and down to the sailing club. We continue past the Maybush pub still busy serving meals and out onto the seawall path, sadly yet another local path where no cycling signs are appearing, we think that cyclists and walkers can mix well on footpaths if you are considerate to others and take it easy! Not much wildlife to be seen just a few birds. We come out in Waldringfield main street by the well-known cottage that sell garden plants. Mag choses some so we return to the van to drive back and pick them up:) So a good day and perhaps we can get out on our bikes tomorrow after they have just been returned from the repair shop!
